OSP arrests Trotwood man they say was carrying $8,400 worth of heroin
(WKEF/WRGT) - A Trotwood man has been arrested after troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say he had nearly 56 grams of heroin on him.
Troopers stopped Robert Yates, 35, on August 1 for speeding on U.S. 35 in Jackson County. Troopers say while talking with Yates, they smelled raw marijuana then did a pat-down of Yates. During the pat-down troopers say they could feel drugs on Yates and he took off running. While running, troopers say Yates threw what turned out to be heroin into the grass. Troopers caught up with Yates and found the heroin, which they say has a street value of around $8,400.
Yates is now in custody at the Jackson County Jail on charges of possession of heroin and trafficking in drugs and resisting arrest.
