MCRC celebrates 40 years with Ride for Recovery
MIAMI COUNTY, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Miami County Recovery Council has helped people fight addiction for 40 years.
Dozens showed their support with a 40 mile Ride for Recovery, which raised money and awareness for drug abuse prevention and treatment.
The council continues to grow. The organization receives around 100 new people seeking help every month.
Families impacted by addiction came out to support the cause.
"A lot of people think that when someone gets on heroin, you can tell, we couldn't tell," says Randy Alexander who lost his son to addiction. "We worked with him everyday, day in and day out for two years before we found out this heroin had a hold on him the way it did."
The Miami County Recovery Council is located on N. Market St. in Troy.
The non-profit offers assessment, treatment recommendations, outpatient services, and more.
