Food truck rally helps raise money for Brigid's Path (WKEF/WRGT)

CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Getting together to sample food from a bunch of different food trucks, but it takes the event to another level when it’s for a good cause.

A food truck rally did exactly that Friday night, raising money for an organization dedicated to helping babies that are born addicted to opioids.

Brigid’s Path is being built in Kettering, and is expected to open soon. The facility will house newborn babies who are born addicted.

It offers around-the-clock medical care, and a place where mothers can get help.

“Babies will come in who are drug-exposed and go through withdrawal at our facility,” Jane Synder with Brigid’s Path said, “and then we also wrap services around the moms and families, helping them move forward and be successful.”

The organization is expected to be open at the beginning of October. They need donations and volunteers to rock the babies.

Snyder said they already have 2,000 people who have expressed interest.
