Driver hits curb, goes airborne and hits pole in Dayton
DAYTON, Ohio (WRGT) - West Third Street in Dayton was shut down overnight after a serious crash.
The crash happened in the area of West Third Street and Malden Avenue around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30.
Dayton police say the man behind the wheel of the car was driving on eastbound on West Third Street when he hit a curb, launching the car into the air. It then slammed into a pole, splitting it and moving it from the ground.
The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for his injuries. The crash shut down Third Street between Whitmore Avenue and Liscum Drive while investigators reconstructed the scene. Police tell FOX 45 it appears the driver never hit the brakes before crashing.
