Downtown Dayton Partnership breaks down latest plans for the Dayton Arcade
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – The Downtown Dayton Partnership gave Gem City residents a taste of the latest plans to restore the Dayton Arcade Tuesday morning.
At the Special Improvement District Annual Meeting, the partnership broke down the improvement project, which include the arcade-rotunda building, the commercial building and the Lindsey building.
The plan is to transform parts of the landmark into mixed-use space, and add more than 120 housing units for artists and professionals.
Sandy Gudorf with the Downtown Dayton Partnership said they’re also excited about the University of Dayton’s investment in the arcade.
“The University of Dayton, they will be taking about 100,000 square feet in the building and have various different programs inside,” she said, “especially their entrepreneurial program. It’s very exciting for us.”
Parts of the estimated $72 million project could be wrapped up by as early as next year.
