Documents give insight after 15-month-old found dead in hot car in Mason
MASON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Investigators just released new documents on the Mason baby found dead in a hot car.
They reveal what the mother said happened, plus FOX 45 obtained her chilling 911 call.
“My baby just died, my baby just died,” the mother said to dispatchers.
15-month-old Sofia Averio was found dead in the back seat of her mother's car, parked outside work at Proctor and Gamble in Mason.
So, why was she left in car?
Newly obtained court records give some insight. The girl's mom told police, she was running late to work and usually drops Sofia off at daycare.
They live five minutes away from Proctor and Gamble.
Documents also said Sofia’s dad tried to get her from daycare, but was told she wasn't there.
Her parents are now being investigated.
Search warrants show a list of seized property, including the car.
Both Mason Police and the Warren County Prosecutor are not answering questions about the investigation.
