Dayton Kroc Center provides a place for kids while parents shop (WKEF/WRGT)

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Kids got to hang out at the Kroc Center on Friday while their parents did their Black Friday shopping.

This is the first year for the Shop Till You Drop event at the Salvation Army and Kroc Center in Dayton.

Parents paid the small fee of five dollars to drop their kids off to participate in recreational activities while they got their Black Friday shopping done.

Lunch was provided.

Assistant Manager of Recreation and Fitness at the Center Seth Gilley said that they played games like matball, soccer and kickball.

“Most of the kids are happy to be here,” said Gilley, I know the one little girl said that she was waiting to see what her mom got her for her black Friday shopping,” said Gilley.

Gilley said that they plan to make this an annual event.

This year they had about 15 kids, but they hope that it continues to grow in future years.
