DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – The Montgomery County Coroner’s office has identified the woman who was found dead on a living room floor Saturday.

Leanette Newton, 37 from Dayton, was reportedly known around the area of Blanche Street, where she was found, as a nice woman.

A man called 911 from the home where she was found dead. Police have said they aren’t sure what Newton's relationship was with that man, and they also haven’t release any information about how she was killed.

Crews arrested 39-year-old Keason Herron at the scene. He's been booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a murder charge, and is due in court Monday around 2 p.m.

Police said relatives on both sides came to the scene and started a commotion.

“With situations like this, no one wins,” Sgt. Creigee Coleman said. “A person has lost a life, and person who did this will lose to the incarceration system. No one wins. People were angry and crying; they were angry. We were able to control the scene. We let people express themselves; they were angry, upset.”
