Celina rushing to get emergency funding for recovery efforts before end of the year

Celina rushing to get emergency funding for recovery efforts before end of the year (WKEF/WRGT File)

CELINA, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - It's been a community-wide effort to try to put Celina back together after a tornado ripped through the city, but they still need more help.

Celina Mayor Jeff Hazel said the city is rushing to get emergency funding before the year ends, after already spending $500,000 on recovery efforts. Even though the cost for the city is high, businesses like Crown Equipment, Dunham Sports and Dollar General are expecting to shell out far more than that. Hazel said the damages to the businesses will likely cost millions of dollars to fix.

Both the governor's office and senate office have been in town to survey the damage.
