Body pulled from car that caught fire inside Springfield park
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A body was removed from a car that caught fire early this morning in Sherman Park in Springfield.
A woman called 911 just before 4:30 a.m. today saying she could see the fire from her home. The woman told the 911 dispatcher she could hear what sounded like firecrackers going off, "so I'm thinking someone accidentally started it," the caller said.
Firefighters found the person's body in the back seat of the car after the fire was put out. It's not yet clear if the person is a man or woman but the body has been taken to Dayton where an autopsy will be done. Police tell FOX 45 the license plate didn't match the car.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
