OC CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) -- Santa shouldn't have any trouble finding an Orange County neighborhood. Officials have seen the light -- and say the Christmas lights can stay in the Wagon Wheel area. Elaborate light displays are a community tradition. But county officials ordered that some of those lights had come down by yesterday evening. The lights were strung across a street on a steel cable and officials said they posed a safety hazard. Now, the county says the lights can stay up if the residents apply for a permit. The Orange County Register reports officials say they'll even waive the application fee. Officials had threatened fines and possible charges if residents defied the ban.

DRESSING ROOM-PEEPING TOM
LENEXA, Kan. (AP) -- A topless woman running through a Kohl's department store "definitely got the attention of other shoppers." That's what a Kansas police officer says. Of course, there's more to the story. Police say the woman was trying on bras in the dressing room, when she saw a hand with cellphone under the partition. The shirtless woman chased the peeping Tom suspect through the store. While the man made it out of the place, police say witnesses ID'd him. The man was busted several blocks away. The Kansas City Star reports 35-year-old Jeremy F. Bradley now faces a charge of breach of privacy.
RECORD SNOWBALL FIGHT
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Combine beer and snow and what do you get? How about the biggest snowball fight ever? Minnesota brew lovers have that frosty ambition. They want to stage a mega snowball fight during the Beer Dabbler Winter Carnival on January 25 at the state fairgrounds. The group hopes to have a minimum of 7,000 snowball tossers. The current Guinness World Record was set about a year ago in Seattle, with more than 5,800 people. The Minnesota snowballers aren't taking any chances with the weather, though. They'll have snowmaking machines just in case.

US economy grows at 3.6 percent rate in 3rd qtr.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The U.S. economy grew at a 3.6 percent annual rate from July through September, the fastest since early 2012. But nearly half the growth came from a buildup in business stockpiles, a trend that could reverse in the current quarter and hold back growth.
